Hello!

Hi!

I’m Mel, the founder and creative force behind Small Hours Studio.

With over a decade of experience working with direct-to-consumer brands, I’ve seen firsthand how messy things can get when a brand grows without a clear visual system. That’s where I come in. I help you make sense of your brand — and make it look damn good in the process.

What I Do

I specialize in brand identity, packaging, and web design for consumer packaged goods. Whether you're launching something new or need to get your existing brand aligned, I zoom out to look at the full picture — every touchpoint, now and down the road.

How I Work

My process is grounded in listening. I start with your story — what makes your brand tick, what challenges you face, and what success looks like to you — then I design visuals that bring it all together.

My goal is to create a design that feels like a perfect fit: bold, functional, and built with your team and tools in mind. I believe great design isn’t just beautiful — it’s strategic, usable, and made to grow with you.

No cookie-cutter solutions here — just thoughtful design rooted in clarity, connection, and a whole lot of colour.

Inspired by stories, snacks, and the small details.

I find inspiration everywhere — in everyday objects, travel, outdoor adventures, and whatever’s currently in my snack drawer. I hold a D.E.P. in graphic design from Dawson College and a Bachelor of Design from OCADU.

If your visuals feel disjointed or your brand isn’t clicking the way it should, I’d love to help. Let’s make something you’re proud to share — and easy to grow with.
